Please join us at the launch of Poets and Painters - Celebrating The Big Punchbowl on Friday 28 July at the Moonah Arts Centre.
During the spring and summer months of 2016-17, nine poets and nine painters immersed themselves in The Big Punchbowl Reserve. In pairs they have witnessed nature, then collaboratively crafted work. The results show The Big Punchbowl through a new and original lens.
You are invited to join the TLC and curators Pete Hay and Carol Bett at the exhibition launch of the seventh Poets and Painters.
Protected by the Tasmanian Land Conservancy in 2016 through the generosity of so many supporters, The Big Punchbowl Reserve is 244 hectares of waterways and bushland on the Freycinet Peninsula. Home to nationally endangered Tasmanian devils, white-bellied sea eagles and a raft of waterbirds, the reserve fringes the Ramsar-listed Moulting Lagoon.
Experience the reserve through the work of eminent artists and writers: • Sarah Day and Raymond Arnold • Edith Speers and David Keeling • Adrienne Eberhard and Sue Lovegrove • Jan Colville and Lucienne Rickard • James Charlton and Joan Ross • Greg Lehman and Imants Tillers • Lyn Reeves and Megan Walch • Louise Oxley and Thornton Walker • Ben Walter and Richard Wastell
The exhibition will be launched by Professor Jamie Kirkpatrick, followed by readings from participating poets. Please RSVP here to attend the launch.

Heartfelt thanks to the TLC supporters who enabled the purchase of The Big Punchbowl for the protection of nature in perpetuity. We acknowledge the traditional owners of this land, the Oyster Bay people. We pay respect to their elders past and present, and acknowledge today’s Tasmanian Aboriginal community.
