Tasmanian Land Conservancy and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra announce new partnership

The Tasmanian Land Conservancy (TLC) and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra (TSO) have launched a new partnership that will bring together conservation, music and creativity in new ways. Both organisations are passionate about creating experiences that connect people with nature, music and place.

Connecting communities

Through the partnership, members of the TLC community will have opportunities to experience the TSO from behind the scenes, including access to open rehearsals, backstage tours and opportunities to connect with musicians.

Likewise, members of the TSO community will have opportunities to learn more about Tasmania’s unique natural environment through guided reserve visits and talks from ecologists and conservation practitioners.

Artist-in-residence program

One of the most exciting possibilities is an artist-in-residence program on TLC reserves. Musicians, conductors and composers would spend time immersed in nature, drawing inspiration from Tasmania’s landscapes and wildlife.

Director of Development Sarah Morrisby from the TSO says the partnership creates opportunities for both organisations to learn from one another and create unique experiences for their communities.

‘We are looking forward to working together to combine the work of two great Tasmanian organisations to create beautiful, meaningful experiences,’ she says.

Looking ahead

Looking ahead, the TLC and TSO will explore opportunities for further collaboration, including performances in natural settings and new ways to inspire connection through both nature and music.
