Wildtracker: Photos in focus

A well-camouflaged echidna, detected and classified by Stickybeak at the Tasmanian Land Conservancy’s Kelvedon Hills Reserve. While Stickybeak doesn’t always get it right – sometimes flagging rocks, sticks or tree guards as potential animals –  this is a great example of its value in spotting wildlife that can be hard to detect, even for human eyes. In this case, Stickybeak was 62% confident there was an animal in the box, and 99.94% sure it was an echidna.

A (very) close echidna captured by WildTracker Kaye on her property in Tinderbox. What a cute snoot!
