Caretaker opportunity

Rubicon Sanctuary is a special and rare 20 hectare remnant of coastal native habitat in the central north coast of Tasmania. The property consists of ephemeral wetlands and native woodlands featuring amazing orchid diversity, hosting approximately 60 species.

A volunteer Rubicon Sanctuary caretaker position is now open to the right candidate. Rubicon’s volunteer caretaker(s) will provide a year-round presence on the property assisting in the protection and conservation of the natural values through on-ground management, monitoring and general property (including building) maintenance.

The successful applicant(s) will live onsite at Rubicon, Port Sorell for the duration of their placement. There is a one-bedroom passive solar house, which includes a garage, study and is very comfortably appointed. The main living area is conjoined with a unit that will be made available from time-to-time to TLC staff and other volunteers.
