Located 145km south of Launceston and just 6km from the village of Bronte Park, this Victoria Valley Road property provides seclusion and excellent access to nearby facilities in the magic of London Lakes and the Tasmanian highlands.

Three adjoining lots to be sold together (44.29ha, 20.58ha, 100.2ha)

Conservation values

This property features a beautiful, threatened highland grassy sedgeland – a hidden gem that is accessible by an easy walk. Some old growth and regrowth eucalypt forests can also be found, alongside rockplate grassland and mountain white gum forest. These provide potential habitat for many of Tassie’s threatened fauna species recorded nearby including the eastern quoll, grey goshawk, wedge-tailed eagle, masked owl and Tasmanian devil.

Protection into the future

To provide permanent protection for the conservation values on the property, a Conservation Covenant will be registered against the land titles. Three exclusion zones (2 are ~4 ha each and one is ~1 ha) have been allocated and are accessed by a good all weather track suitable for a 4WD vehicle.

Within the exclusion zones, future owners may clear vegetation, construct a home and undertake all the usual activities associated with residential use (subject to Council approval). Elsewhere, the covenant will restrict any activities that may degrade the conservation values of the land but allows for essential management activities (such as construction and maintenance of boundary fences) and for appropriate recreational activities (eg bird watching, walking).

A Nature Conservation Plan for the covenant will be available to the new owners, ensuring any threats to conservation values can be managed into the future.

Infrastructure and services

Launceston airport is 135 km east of the property. Legal access to the property is via Victoria Valley Road from Bronte Park and a well-formed gravel road runs along the length of the property, mostly following the eastern boundary.

The property is over the road from Bronte Lagoon and within a few kilometres of several other well regarded fishing sites, and 30 km from the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, Lake St Clair, Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park and Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park.
