‘We are two pharmacists with a passion and interest in all things Tasmanian. With descendants dating back to the first fleet, our family of three daughters, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren have called Tasmania home for more than six generations.
Our passion for the Tasmanian landscape and its biodiversity started in 1985 when we took our daughters through the Overland track, where we saw ancient plants including King Billy pine, celery top pine, pencil pines, myrtle forests and cushion plants. We were truly blown away.
Since then, we have visited Recherché Bay and Port Davey many times (spending time with the legendary conservationist, Deny King) and completed a number of walks across Tasmania including walking the Western Arthur Range and Federation Peak.
Hence, we are very in tune with the Tasmanian Land Conservancy’s ideals of preserving as much of Tasmania as we can for our grandchildren who are already here and those who are yet to come.
We have established the Edwards Family Trust to further the aims of this wonderful organisation, and ensure the places we have grown to love across the state will be cared for into the future.’
