Ian is an adjunct professor with the University of Western Australia following a long career managing environmental science programs in terrestrial, marine and freshwater ecological science. He chairs the NESP Resilient Landscapes hub nationally, the Western Australian Biodiversity Science Institute, and the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Advisory Panel. Within Tasmania, Ian is a board member of the Environmental Protection Authority and the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens.
